The divine calling for the religious life.
The religious
are people who give up themselves, accept freely the religious life after
making vows (chastity, poverty and obedience) in front of God and the Holy
Church. They choose especially the chastity for the heavenly kingdom and devote
themselves for Jesus and His Teachings with all their hearts and commitments.
So they show God¡¯s kingdom in advance through their community life which will
come at the very last day. The religious monks who have died with Christ,
believe that they shall also live with Him (cf. Roman 6,8). They live in the
world and at the same time they don¡¯t belong to the world: this is to be proved
when they realize the evangelical counsels.
The religious
have two categories: monks (male religious) and sister (female religious).
Plus, there are two types of monks: one is to live their whole life without
having Holy Order. Other is religious priests who are qualified for the
sacraments and Holy Mass. These two monks are called together by God in
different ways, but they live together, the community life, after making
evangelical vows.
